Terrorist bombings...Are they all connected?

There are many folks who will say no to this question. I think it is a little too convenient that the bombings in London and the bombing in Egypt happened so closely together. It takes massive co-operation by hundreds of people to plan attacks like the ones we have seen recently in London and Egypt. Granted these might not be the exact same people, but I think there is a definite connection between the attacks. Bin-Laden probably does not make all the calls on who to attack or even when to attack so that means that he has Lieutenants all over the place that do his will. Nobody knows for sure how large an organization like Al-Qaida is but you can bet it is massive, membership probably in the hundreds of thousands. I must say that I am surprised that our country has not been attacked again. It has been nearly four years since the 9/11 bombings and the world we live in today is a very different place than it used to be. I truly believe that the recent attacks are connected. They may not be planned by the same people, but I think they are from Al-Qaida. I think they will also attack again and soon. Our government has done a spectacular job of foiling many would-be terrorists from killing countless innocents, but it is only a matter of time before they miss something and our country again sees itself under attack. My brother made a good point the other day. He said 'the bill of rights was written for a much different time period. For our safety to remain intact we must be willing to sacrifice some of our freedoms.' Many people will look at that statement and they will shoot it down. They will say that if we give up one freedom then the government will take them all. I disagree. I think as responsible citizens it is our civic duty to do what we must to protect the United States of America. If that means that the government wants to tap my phone or read my e-mail then so be it. I have nothing to hide. The only people the government is interested in gathering information on are the the people who make themselves out to be suspicious. If you are innocent and have nothing to hide then why fight what is inevitably going to happen. I know I got a little off topic here, but I needed to go that route because if I titled this post 'Let's give up some of our freedoms' how many of you would have actually taken the time to read this post at all?
